Weary? Stressed? Worn Down? Feeling Down? Tired? Today’s printable was made for me, my patients, and for you dear reader!

“Critical charge” chirps my Bluetooth speaker. Low battery warning on the car key fob, and a dead Apple Watch all within 2 hours of my morning. Why does everything around me appear to be in need of a recharge today? Including myself. Today calls for something else beyond caffeine to recharge my own batteries

There’s so much we CAN do to plug into the body’s innate “feel good” system that takes just a tad bit of intention or effort. 

The natural medicine cabinet in your body is POWERFUL. Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, Endogenous Opioids, and Endorphins are all accessible. Take the keys to unlock your intrinsic medicine cabinet. In my therapeutic pain sciences education they describe this process as

making a dry brain a wet brain.

The water is in the pipes, but you need to turn on the faucet.

I’ve created a helpful printable to place in your home as a reminder of what tools are available to you. Put it on your fridge, in your pantry, on the inside of your medicine cabinet, next to your vitamins, in your bathroom - somewhere you go for feel-good things. 

Think of it this way, if you’re reaching for coffee, Ibuprofen, or Netflix, you probably need to gravitate towards something on this printable.

If you’re familiar with the breath meditation content, I typically write 3 types of Breath Meditations: Rise, Revitalize, and Reflect. I find myself most in need of Revitalize breath meditations and prayers when I’m feeling stressed or things are out of control. Revitalize is the in-the-moment, immediate “medical care” I need. Granted I operate much better when the “preventative care” practices of Rise and Reflect concepts are in effect, sometimes I just need a Revitalizing boost.

The tools can be categorized in 4 ways: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, and Emotional:

  1. The physical: restore rest, improve movement, circulate blood and stimulate the heart.

  2. The mental: think positively, choose good attitudes, let the mind wander, reflect on positive memories, plan for the future

  3. The spiritual: laugh, meditate, center on truth, take in nature 

  4. The emotional: connect with community, forgive, find goodness and gratitude
